Aire Class Blog

This week in Aire class, we have been learning about the perimeter of rectilinear shapes and calculating missing lengths. Liam says he enjoys this Maths topic because he likes counting up the lengths of the sides to work the perimeter of the shapes.
In Learning Means the World we have continued our learning on forces, focussing on magnetism. Eddie had fun testing the magnets to find magnetic and non-magnetic materials. We have also been testing how the poles of magnets either attract or repel.
On Friday we are going to be building our own model cars to test theories on friction. Liam thinks it is going to be exciting because he likes to play with cars. Bronte is wondering how we are going to make a car out of an egg box!
In RE we have been learning how Mary Magdelene might have felt on Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. We have thought about how these feelings changed on each occasion as she observed the events of the Holy Week.
English learning this week has been for us to create our own Marvin & Milo story but creating our own cartoon characters to give instructions for our egg experiment. Ben enjoyed creating his cartoon and Carlotta liked it because reading and writing instructions using cartoons was something different to our usual English learning.
We hope you all have a fantastic half-term break.
