Hunting a Disgusting Sandwich
This week in English, we enjoyed an exciting clue hunt outside to introduce our new story book. We discovered a crashed kite, a scooter perched precariously up a drainpipe, a discarded bunch of flowers, and a rather unappetising sandwich! The class came up with some fantastic questions to explore why these items might be there. We then discovered that they all link to our new book: The Disgusting Sandwich by Gareth Edwards.
In maths, we have been exploring the concept of equal and unequal parts. We will be recapping halves and quarters and will also be learning about thirds in the coming weeks.
In RE at the end of last week, the class painted pebbles. Hannah explained, "These are to say thank you to people who help us." This activity linked to the class's learning about how Christians say thank you to God for the gift of creation.
Freddy was very excited about his art lesson with Mrs Trigg on Wednesday. He shared, "We used coloured pencils, pastels, and wax crayons to create Spring pictures. It was really fun, and I had never done anything like that before."
We are all looking forward to our trip to Bland Close Farm next Thursday. It will link really well with our learning about animals and their offspring in science, as well as being a lot of fun!
