Welcome from Wharfe!

What a wonderfully (warm) second week Wharfe have had this term!

We have been revising a variety of topics this week. In Maths, we have been looking at fractions of an amount, perimeter, area and 3D shapes. We enjoyed making the 3D shapes with nets and investigating the different vertices, edges and faces and have been very creative in presenting the different information. We have also enjoyed being outside doing some Maths learning, including a very competitive noughts and crosses game under the shade of the trees, challenging each other with questions on rounding and temperature.

In English, we have been looking at the use of parenthesis, simple past and simple present tense as well as investigating the spelling rules of when you add 'ancy' or 'ency' as a suffix to a word.

We continued our Learning Means the World topic 'Full of Beans' by examining which countries beans are grown in and comparing them to climate information to deduce the ideal growing conditions for beans. The children have also researched a variety of different beans and created fact-files, creatively depicting the information gathered.
