Hornblower Class Blog

Another Busy Week!

The children worked hard this week. They have focused really well to complete their final sets of assessments of the year. The class have also completed their fantastic, simile-laden poems about what they get up to at home. With a real focus on presentation as well as content, there's been some fantastic work across the class: well done, Hornblower!

Sports Day at the end of last week went really well. It has been variously described as 'awesome', 'so much fun' and 'exciting but nerve-wracking'. Well done everybody for their efforts!

In English we are now moving onto a non-fiction text about Amelia Earhart. We will use this to learn about biographies, as well as associated grammar around past-tense verbs and using conjunctions.

In Maths we have been making block charts as we continue to explore statistics, with a focus on analysing the information that charts give us.

In Learning Means The World we explored the remarkable life of Malala Yousafzai, who overcame incredible barriers in her life, due to her passion to receive an education.
