Wensley Blog Post!

Wonderful Wensley!

We have had a very exciting week here in Wensley Class.  We thoroughly enjoyed Sports Day. I was very proud of all the children and the way they performed with great team work and fairness. A fabulous afternoon was had by all!  Scarlett said 'My favourite was the sack race. It was really funny!'

In Learning Means the World we have been looking at the indigenous tribes of North America and how they lived their lives. We have produced fabulous presentations about our chosen tribe and what life was like for them. We have also been looking at how life was different for men and women in these different tribes and how life changed with the arrival of people from Europe. It was very interesting and informative!

In English, we have been continuing our journey through ‘Cloud Busting’ by Malorie Blackman and we have been looking closely at the theme of bullying.  We are hoping to finish the book next week and write some of our own narrative poetry to show you.  We have also been learning and performing parts of the poem, as you can see.

We also spent some time on Wednesday afternoon helping the Year 2 children to start their times table journey on Time Tables Rock Stars. The year 5 children had a buddy whom they helped to log in and get started. It was a lovely afternoon and both year groups got a lot out of it. I was fantastic to see the gentle and nurturing side of our class and we look forward to more opportunities like this when we are all together next year.  Barney was so encouraging and said, 'They managed to get over a hundred coins. They were amazing!'
