Aire Class blog
Welcome to the Aire Class blog
Aire class has had a really exciting week. On Wednesday we visited Ripon Cathedral as part of our Saxon topic in Learning Means The World. We designed our own stained-glass windows, dressed as Monks and visited the famous crypt built by St. Wilfrid. Liam thought the trip was fun and really liked the alabaster picture in the crypt and the windows with people in them. Olivia enjoyed it because she learnt new things and listened to the Lord's Prayer in Old English language. Nicholas found the trip really interesting because the crypt was built by Anglo-Saxons in the year 672AD. Eddie loved the Anglo-Saxon riddles we had to solve too.
In Maths, we have been adding and subtracting fractions. Kaihan has noticed how useful times-tables knowledge is when making his calculations with fractions.
In English we have been learning how to use adverbs and verbs. We have been describing a river scene. Zara says we could say "the water slowly flowed by", for example. Noah enjoyed this work and found it fun but it was difficult finding the right adverbs at times.
