Aire Class blog

Welcome to the Summer Term in Aire!
Welcome to our Aire class blog for the summer term! We have lots of exciting learning planned for this term, and we are looking forward to sharing our activities here with you.
This term sees the beginning of new topics in Maths, English, Learning Means the World and RE.
Our English writing is centred around a picture book called Flotsam by David Wiesner. The story begins with a boy finding small creatures on the beach but then takes a strange and surreal turn. Marcel thinks it is challenging to know what the characters are doing and Eddie found some of the pictures funny, especially the octopuses sitting on sofas on the sea bed!
We have begun to look at Decimals in Maths, learning how they compare to tenths. Zara says she is beginning to see the connection between tenths and decimal numbers.
Learning Means the World has changed from History to Geography this term. We will be looking at three different countries from around the world and learning about their human and physical geography. This week we started to learn about Brazil. Brooke has enjoyed hearing Brazilian Samba music and Isaac wants to find out how long the Amazon River is. Archie has been wondering how hot Brazil is, so he is looking forward to learning about the climate.
