Aire Class Blog

Welcome to our Aire class blog!

This week in Maths we have continued with our decimals work. We have been dividing 1 and 2 digit numbers by 10. Isaac spotted that there were decimal numbers on his bottle of water. Isaac said that they show how many of the different minerals are in a bottle of water.

In English, we continued "reading" the picture book Flotsam and discovered its strange ending. Archie likes describing the scenes in the book using determiners, expanded noun phrases and prepositional phrases. Brooke thinks it is a very strange book but has enjoyed reading it.

In R.E we have started to learn about the Sikh religion. Annie says that 'Sikhs believe everyone should be treated equally, Sikh's have a kitchen where anyone can go and enjoy a meal. ' Jess would like to know about the Sikh golden temple and Zara would like to know more about why Sikh's treat their holy book as a living person.

In Art, we have been looking at the work of Brazilian artist Romero Britto. Nicholas likes his artwork as it is very colourful. Max describes his style as Pop Art. We have been learning to copy this style and will be producing our own artwork influenced by Pop Art and Cubism.

We have also started football as part of our PE lessons, learning how to play quick one-touch passes. We did have to have a half-time break as it was very hot in the sun!
