Aire Class Blog

This week, along with trying to keep as cool as we can, we have been doing some exciting activities in our learning. As part of our Learning Means the World topic in RE we visited Holy Trinity Church. This was very exciting as we got to learn a lot more about the church that we spend so much time in doing other activities.  We learnt about the history of the building itself and also what the church is used for. We looked at how Christians use the building not only for worship but for community activities too. We will take this learning and compare Christians and their places of worship and practices with Sikis and their temples and Gurdwaras, which we have also been learning about.

As the weather has been so hot, we decided to have a slightly different PE lesson earlier this week. Finding a lovely shaded part of the woodland area, we had a calming and mindful Yoga session using a number of different Yoga positions and breathing techniques. Our second session of PE was our final cricket session where we looked at fielding techniques such as the long barrier.

In English, we have begun a new topic called "The Dictionary of Difficult Words". During these lessons we will be learning to identify words we don't understand and how, using a dictionary, we can find the definition and the word to our own vocabulary.
