Swale news
We have had a very busy week in Swale with lots going on!
In English, we have been writing the first draft of our story about our own Paddington disaster! Avianna said she is very happy to be writing a story about the mischief he gets into! We have been focusing on subordinating clauses and conjunctions to add more information to our sentences.
In Learning means the World, we have been very excited to continue our learning on Vikings. Today, we have been archaeologists and digging up the past to learn and ask questions about Viking artefacts. Lily said it was really interesting to learn that not all Vikings were not fierce warriors, but they were also farmers, traders and craftspeople.
Maths has been challenging us this week. We have been partitioning numbers to divide numbers. We are slowing building up to dividing 3 digits by 1 number and using concrete resources such as part whole models, counters and base ten to help us. Francesca said it is a little bit tricky when you learn new things, but with lots of practise it is getting easier to understand.
In Guided Reading we have been looking at non-fiction texts and reading "Did Vikings have horns on their helmets?" We have discovered that Vikings cared a lot about how they looked, and they also had inventive ways of starting fires!
We are very excited to go to Outwood Academy to perform our dances on Wednesday. Please could all children arrive in PE kit by 8:55am prompt as we need to leave by 9am.
