Ribble's Class Blog

Welcome to the 'Ribble rundown'!
As always, we have been doing a lot of learning this week and we are excited to share the details with you.
On Tuesday, we had the pleasure of Matt from Holy Trinity Church visiting us in class to discuss our RE topic at the moment. We had some very respectful and interesting conversations about creation and the beginning of the universe. We talked about Gensis 1:1, evolution and cosmology. The children had lots of interesting questions for Matt and it was lovely to have this opportunity - thank you Matt!
In maths this week, we have continued with decimals, percentages and fractions in maths and the progress that has been made since the start of this topic is outstanding.
Our diary entries are well underway too. Each lesson we ensure that we include all of the writing focuses for this unit. This includes adding in brackets for parenthesis, adverbials, technical vocabulary and time conjunctions for chronology.
In Guided Reading, we have delved deeper into 'Journey to the RiverSea' and have begun predicting the personalities of some characters through the descriptions in the text.
Learning Means the World is bringing us a new topic - Pharaoh Queen. We have started by using an Atlas to locate Egypt and answer questions about its location. We are excited to learn more about the Egyptians!
