Wensley Class Blog

Welcome to another busy week in Wensley!
As you can see, we have been very busy being scientists this week. We have been setting up our own experiments about melting and making sure that they are fair tests. We have discussed lots of ways in which we could make it a fair test and the one variable that we would change. The children were very good at setting up the equipment and recording their observations and results carefully.
In RE, we have been finishing our topic on Judaism by looking at some of the main Jewish festivals. We looked at how they are celebrated, some of the food that they eat and what it represents. We sampled some apple slices dipped in honey to signify the sweetness of the New Year ahead in the festival called Rosh Hashanah. Barney enjoyed the tasting session and said, "They were delicious and sweet!"
In English, we have started our new topic which links nicely with all our work on conservation. It is called Our Planet. Anna really loved looking at the book and some of the documentaries that go with it. She said, "I loved watching the spinner dolphins and learning all about them." Scarlett really enjoyed the book and said, "The photographs and the artwork are amazing to look at."
Kacper has really enjoyed making his own conservation board game this week in Design Technology. He loved the process of setting up the rules and thinking about how the board would be put together. He said, "It has given me lots of confidence to try and design more games at home." We look forward to playing all these games when they are finished!
