Spa Class Blog

Welcome to our Spa Class Blog!
This week we have enjoyed being back outside! We have built houses in the large construction, explored ice and created ice foods in the kitchen area!
In English we have continued to read the story ‘Ketchup on your Cornflakes. We focused on the toast and which toppings would be best. The children were all able to share their favourite toppings, and we wrote them onto a shopping list.
In Maths we have continued to look at the numbers 1, 2, 3. We played a bean bag game and threw the correct amount of beanbags into the numbered buckets. We also used number fans for the first time and were able to find the correct numbers!
In Phonics we have been singing the nursery rhyme the wheels on the bus. We identified rhyming words and tapped the syllables in words. We have listened for the ‘g’ initial sound in words and could sort picture cards into words that started with the ‘g’ sound and words that started with a different sound. We have also had fun playing the name game and identified the initial sounds in our names.
In Learning Means the World we made toast and talked about the changes that are happening to the bread. Etta was able to say the bread was white before it went into the toaster. Freddie explained the toast burns in the toaster and changes to a brown colour. The children did very well at spreading their favourite toppings.
We have also made a new class song called ‘Tasty Breakfast’. Children were able to choose breakfast foods to add to the song.
