Spa Class Blog

Welcome to the Spa Class blog. We have had a lovely week in the sunshine!
In English we continued to read the story ‘The very Hungry Caterpillar.’ We retold the story using pictures and props and created a story map. We could all help to retell the story.
In Maths we have looked at capacity. We have used the words full, half full and empty. We have made potions in the water area and the outdoor kitchen. We also filled bowls carefully for the 3 bears.
In Phonics we have been singing the nursery rhyme ‘Hey Diddle Diddle.’ We were all able to sing the song fast, slow, loud and quiet. We identified rhyming words and tapped the syllables in words. We listened for the ‘V’ initial sound in words and could sort picture cards into words that started with the ‘V’ sound and words that started with a different sound. We have also been practising our oral blending of words.
In RE we have been thinking about what makes us unique and special. Kaia explained she is ‘good at crafting,’ and we had lots of children who explained they were good at tidying up!
We also discussed when we felt special. Alice explained; ‘when I see my sister singing in church.’ Jaxon said ‘when I got a birthday present’ and Lewis explained when a friend drew him a love heart picture!
In Learning Means the World we have created beautiful spring flower paintings, caterpillar splat paintings, and we have continued to look out for minibeasts in the outdoor area.
