Laver Class Blog

What a fabulous, jam-packed and wonderful year we have had in Year 1! I am so proud of the amazing progress every child has made this year. Every child has shown hard work and dedication to becoming a confident, independent learner. It has been an absolute pleasure and constant joy to teach Laver class. I wish them all a gorgeous summer and all the best for the future. - Miss Lee.
This week in Laver we have completed our final narratives in English. The collection of stories is titled "How to hide a teddy in school!" Every child has written a fantastic story about hiding their favourite teddy in school. Henry created the sentence 'Miss Lee will be furious!' Great adjective Henry!
In Maths, we have been learning to tell the time to the hour and half past the hour. Thomas Kitching spotted that the minute hand was half way around the clock when it's a half past time. Elenoa reminded us that there are 60 minutes in 1 hour. Oliver spotted that it was nearly lunchtime because it was nearly 12 o'clock. Great time telling everyone!
Other fantastic things that happened in our classroom this week include; drawing around our friends' shadows using chalk, creating the ultimate final obstacle course in our outdoor area and finding lots of ladybirds!
It has been a brilliant last week in Laver. We hope everyone has a restful summer!
