Swale Latest News

Welcome to news from another busy week in Swale.

We must start our blog by talking about the fantastic time we had at Outwood Academy for our Dance participation event. We took two very different dance routines to the event - a musical theatre routine to "This is me" from The Greatest Showman and a traditional Haka routine. Both groups were absolutely fantastic, gave 100% effort and were great representatives for the school.

We completed our Paddington stories this week and have launched our new English topic which is looking at instructional writing. We have explored the text for our likes and dislikes and compared it to other types of instructional writing.

In Learning Means the World we have continued our learning on Vikings and have been focusing on the facts that surprised us the most. Many of the children commented on how surprised they were that Vikings took great pride in their appearance and cleanliness!

In Maths, we have been looking at partitioning numbers and using place value tables to support us dividing 3 digits by 1. This has been quite tricky so we have been using lots of physical resources to help us understand how to do this.
