Swale News!

Welcome to our class news!
We have had a wonderful week in Swale. We had a fantastic day celebrating VE day today and used some time to reflect on British Values and the importance of peace. We also looked at some photos from VE day celebrations in 1945 and thought about how people would have felt. Ivy, Daisy, Avianna and Lizzie had a lovely time singing in Ripon as part of the celebrations. Alva enjoyed sharing stories from his Great Grandmother.
In English we have started our independent writing related to Flotsam. We have created our story plan and started our first draft. We have been learning about how to use paragraph, especially when changing time and place.
In Maths, we have continued with decimals and learning about tenths and hundredths. It has been tricky at times, so we have been using counters and hundred squares to help us with our learning . Daisy said this has helped her to understand hundredths and how it is different to hundreds!
In PE, we have all been very enthusiastic about learning football skills and have progressed to small games to help us think about defending and attacking skills. Emily and Lily said they enjoyed it and Holly said she was proud of her football skills.
We have been thinking about conservation issues in Leanring means the world and looking at specific issues related to Brazil. We have been researching facts from different sources of information to help us write a report. Joshua said he enjoys learning about conservation issues around the world.
