Design Technology
Statement of Intent
“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works”
Steve Jobs
At Holy Trinity, our Design and Technology curriculum is deeply rooted in our vision as a welcoming community of faith, where every child is loved by God and one another. We aim to open up horizons of hope, aspiration, and joy daily, ensuring our curriculum is fully inclusive so all children learn and flourish together.
We champion a vibrant, creative, and practical approach to learning, specifically designed for children who want to be hands-on. By engaging in purposeful, real-world projects, our pupils develop into the innovative engineers of tomorrow. Our rich, varied curriculum introduces them to vital technical skills, including woodwork, electronics, fabrics, and food technology. Through these disciplines, children learn to solve problems, take risks, and critique their own designs.
We connect classroom learning to future careers, inspiring children to see themselves as future designers, architects, chefs, and builders. By nurturing their natural curiosity and technical capability, we equip every child with the resilience and practical skills needed to shape a better world, ensuring they leave Holy Trinity full of aspiration for the future.
