Please read to the bottom of the page:

We have received additional Public Health Guidance:

"The 3 main symptoms of COVID-19 remain a fever (temperature 37.8c or higher), a new continuous cough, or a change to/loss of taste or smell. However, other commonly reported symptoms of recent variants include headache, sore throat, tiredness, and cold-like symptoms, so please be aware of these as well and stay at home and seek further testing if you are in any doubt.”

We will do everything we can to keep school open and children learning. We need and appreciate your support and at this time staffing levels are very pressured.

We currently have high numbers of Covid cases amongst children and staff. Please:

  • Be highly vigilant of any changes in your child's health including being extra tired
  • Consider doing Lateral Flow Tests with your child during this current surge in cases
  • A number of staff isolating are unwell and others are working from home so please bear with us when making contact or requesting information as people may not be immediately available
  • When talking to staff please socially distance and wear a face covering
  • Everyone is asked to respect the decision of others to wear a face covering and keep an appropriate distance to avoid anyone feeling uncomfortable

Uniform

  • Please wear normal school uniform with additional under layers. Coats are essential
  • PE kit as normal and please ensure children have extra warm layers as PE will, on most occasions, be outside

 Covid Guidance

  • If your child has a positive LFT and no symptoms, they should begin isolation immediately and there is no need to have a PCR test
  • If your child has any Covid symptoms, they should be taken for a PCR test and isolate until they receive their results
  • If a PCR is required, wherever possible go to a PCR testing centre as results are returned more quickly
  • If other members of the household are waiting for a PCR result or have a positive LFT, your child can still attend school if they have a negative LFT
  • If you have someone in the household with Covid or your child is a close contact, they will need an LFT each morning for before attending school for 7 days
  • If your child has had a positive result they can return to school if they have 2 negative LFTs 24 hours apart
  • The earliest they can return is day 6 after doing 5 full days of isolation and receiving 2 consecutive negative LFTs 24 hours apart
  • All children and adults can leave isolation after 10 days even if they continue to test positive
  • Please keep school informed so that we can respond accordingly - admin@htceschools.co.uk or 01765 602858
