Nursery FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Do children in Nursery wear school uniform?

This is parental choice and we encourage children to wear red sweatshirts and white polo shirts which are part of our school uniform. Every day we will be busy both inside and outside so we recommend leggings or jogging bottoms.

We also visit the meadow regularly so ask that children have a pair of wellies which they can keep in school.

What kind of activities will my child do in the nursery?

We are committed to providing a varied curriculum that is accessible to all. Throughout the year, we plan many kinds of stimulating activities that challenge and inspire the children. A tailored programme is delivered to each child to cater for their interests and individual learning needs.

We provide daily opportunities for all children to access the outdoor learning environment whatever the weather.

What happens if my child gets upset when I leave?

This is nothing to worry about and is very normal. Starting a new nursery can present lots of new experiences which your child may not have come across before. This might be confusing to start with, especially if your child is accustomed to spending much of their time with you. Children usually settle very well after you have left and we have experienced staff who will keep them busy.

How will you keep me informed about what my child has been doing?

As a parent, we appreciate that it is important for you have a good understanding of how your child is developing. You are very welcome to come into nursery for the start of each session and we are always happy to talk to you about your child’s development. We also keep a learning journey for your child and you are very welcome to come and see this – we’ll be happy to talk you through it.

We also post photos of your child learning in their private channel in TEAMS. We also love to see their learning at home so we encourage you to post photos in their private channel too.
