Swale news
We’ve had such a fantastic week in Year 4!
We’ve been busy learning, creating, and keeping active – and we’re excited to tell you all about it.
Maths
In Maths, we’ve been working with money and thinking about place value. We’ve been counting coins, adding amounts, and solving problems involving change. It’s helped us understand how the position of a digit affects its value – and we’re becoming much more confident with it!
English
In English, we’ve been learning all about prepositions for time and place. We’ve been creating sentences using prepositional phrases and experimenting with where we place them in our writing. It’s been fun to see how moving the preposition can change the focus of a sentence and make it more interesting.
Learning Means the World (DT Focus)
As part of our DT work, we followed a method step-by-step to make some tasty no-bake snowballs. We had to work carefully and as a team – and we loved getting hands-on with the ingredients. The best part? Definitely tasting them at the end!
PE
In PE, we’ve been practising our ball skills to build up our skills in cricket. We’ve been learning how to send, receive, and intercept the ball, and our teamwork and coordination have really improved.
Sports Week Challenges
We’ve also been enjoying our daily Sports Week challenges! Each day we’ve been seeing how many star jumps, slalom runs and other activities we can do in a minute. It’s been so much fun pushing ourselves and cheering each other on – a great way to stay fit and have fun together.
