Swale Blog!
What a busy and exciting week we’ve had!
In English, we continued our work on poetry and focused on the fun and rhythmic world of limericks. We learned the special rules that make limericks bounce and rhyme, and even started own silly versions. Sophie shared a limerick with a hidden message and Francesca had a very funny one about reels and eels! There were some very creative and funny ones, and we will be continuing them after half term.
In Maths, we’ve been working hard on decimals. We learned how to partition them and break them down into tenths and hundredths. Everyone has been doing a fantastic job using place value to explain their thinking – keep it up! Ted said he gave it his best go!
In Learning Means the World, we carried on exploring the colourful and exciting country of Brazil. We had a brilliant visit from Julyanna from Bethel Church, who shared lots of amazing things about Brazilian culture, including traditional food and popular sports like football and capoeira. We also started exploring some of the human features of Scotland. Daisy thought the visit was interesting, especially the different animals and all the different varieties of bananas!
To finish the week in style, we made our own samba beats and even learned some salsa dancing! We put everything together to create our own mini carnival celebration complete with carnival masks. We filled the school full of music, colour, and joy!
