Another week of fabulous learning!
As we are gearing up for sports day, we visited the field to practice our races! It was lovely to be down on the field, in the sunshine, working as a team and trying our hardest. We are now ready to race and have lots of fun!
We have been working really hard in spelling this week, adding suffixes to the end of root words. We now know that if a root word ends in an 'y' we need to change it to an 'i' before adding our suffix. For example, 'happiness' or 'beautiful'.
In English, we have been continuing our learning of poetry. This week we have been thinking about alliteration and similies. We wrote some silly alliterative captions based on food. Noah wrote 'silly salad' and Tessa wrote 'little lumpy limp lettuce'. We have started writing our own class poem by writing similies based on tasks we do in school. We can't wait to share it!
In Maths, we have been continuing with our learning - telling the time. We have learnt that between each interval on the clock is 5 minutes, and have been working on telling the time to minutes past and minutes to the hour.
In LMTW this week we learnt about the amazing work of Thomas Edison. We have discussed the word perserverance and how Thomas Edison didn't give up. He kept on trying until he achieved what he wanted to invent. We also discussed how people found light in their houses before the lightbulb was invented.
We can't wait to see what new things we learn next week!
