Ribble's Class Blog

We have had a wonderful week in Ribble!
On Monday, we kicked off a brand new topic in Learning Means the World and it has taken us all the way to America! We started by testing ourselves on our prior knowledge of America. Then, we each became experts on a different American state, creating cool fact files full of interesting information. It's been brilliant to see all the unique facts about different states! Davids was particularly excited to do a heavily geography-based topic!
RE has also seen us begin a new topic, and we started by asking ourselves how we think religions can help people get through good and bad times. The discussions that took place were very mature and well-thought-through.
In Maths, our brains have been working hard on a mixture of topics. We have continued to dive into decimals, but we have also practised translating shapes and done other short bursts of revision. These skills are important as we get ready for our assessments next week - wish us luck!
English has been just as exciting because we have been digging into our fantastic non-fiction book 'Our Planet'. This week, we focused on modal verbs (like 'can,' 'might,' 'should'), relative clauses (those clever bits that add extra information), and how to build amazing multi-clause sentences. Ben said, 'I am already looking forward to our 'big write' and making it look brilliant in my book!'
