Sports and a sense of belonging!
Our super class have had another great week and are really looking forward to Sports Day at the end of the week! Across the week, it has been Sports Week, so the class have been taking part in a range of one-minute blasts of exercise, such as clap-catching and doing star jumps. This has led to some gentle competitiveness and some very important guzzling of water, especially in the heat!
In RE, they explored the idea of belonging by looking at how Muslims, Jews, and Christians feel a sense of belonging to their communities. The children created word art to identify and celebrate communities or groups they belong to. Please see the picture heading and full version below.
In English, we have been planning our poems about what we do at home and have created some fantastic similes in our planning process. The class are now also alliteration experts and will point out any alliteration they spot at any point of the day! Team Trinity, marvellous mistakes, and even baked beans have been noted by them recently!
In Maths, we have started our unit on statistics. We have been collecting data using tally charts and interpreting the information given in tables. To remember to draw a diagonal line for every fifth tally mark, Elsie tells us, "Don't forget to close the gate!"
We hope you all have a great weekend and really enjoy the rest of the sunny weather!
