Spa Class Blog

Welcome to our Spa Class Blog!
In English we have read an information book called ‘Amazing Planes’. We remembered our trip to India and talked about the airport and flight experience. The children also talked about the flights they have taken on their family holidays “Jet 2!”
In Maths we have looked at the composition of 3 and 4. We have played lots of games to show the different combinations we can use to make these numbers.
In Phonics we have been singing the nursery rhyme ‘A Sailor Went To Sea.’ We were all able to sing the song fast, slow, loud and quiet. We identified rhyming words and tapped the syllables in words. We listened for the ‘sh’ initial sound in words and could sort picture cards into words that started with, or contained the ‘sh’ sound and words that started with a different sound. We have also been practising our oral blending of words and doing really well!
In R.E. we thought about special places. For some of us, it was our home or relatives’ homes. For others, it was the beach, park or other places we play with friends and family. We read a story about a hedgehog whose special place was home, but he was too worried to try out new special places. Eventually, he had the courage to leave his home and try new places which he really enjoyed!
In Learning Means the World we have continued our topic of ‘Come Fly With Me’ by role-playing in the home corner and pretending to go on a plane again. We had a captain this time, who wore a captain’s hat! We have also looked at different types of transport and which we would use to get to different places in the world.
