Aire Class Blog

Welcome to our Aire class blog!
This week we have been learning some fantastic new words in English, using our Dictionary of Difficult words. We have been searching for definitions of fantastic words such as resplendent, clinomania and harbinger to name a few. We looked up definitions from different online sources and noted the differences in how each one presented information.
In Maths, we have moved on to looking at shape. This is with a focus on angles and types of triangles. We have been learning about acute, obtuse and right angles. We have also been looking at the features of equilateral, scalene, isosceles and right angled triangles.
In Learning Means the World, we are in the process of using all our research on slavery to produce a quiz game which is being put together in Microsoft PowerPoint. There will be questions about Sojourner Truth and Harriet Tubman, key figures in the abolition of slavery and also questions about the life and conditions of modern slaves.
In PE, we have tried out Orienteering around the school grounds. Our first practice included map reading skills to locate positions in the school grounds using a grid reference method to find letters which would spell out a word.
