What another wonderful week!

In maths this week, we have been working on describing turns and movement. We have consolidated our learning of left and right and moved this onto using ‘clockwise’ and ‘anticlockwise’ to describe turns. We have also built on our learning of fractions to describe what sort of turn is being made.

In English, we have been looking at Amelia Earhart’s biography. We have learnt what a biography is and how it tells you about someone’s life. Our grammar focus has been on using conjunctions to stick two clauses together. We are now moving onto writing our own biographies of Josephine Baker’s life.

In Science this week, we learnt about life cycles and how these can show the development of an animal. We specifically looked at the life cycle of a caterpillar and how it turns into a butterfly. We even had a go at drawing our own life cycles!

Last Friday, we worked really hard in LMTW. We were re-creating the artwork of Christy Brown, using our feet! Christy painted all his artwork with his feet, so we decided to have a go too! We found it tricky, but it didn't stop us from having a go! Tymur said 'It is strange having a paintbrush between my toes!'.

We were extremely lucky to be invited to watch the Y6 production dress rehearsal. Noah said ‘I loved it, it was so good’. Logan said ‘The Y6 children have worked really hard.’ It was a delight to watch the smiles on the children’s faces as they watched the production!
