Swale News

What a fantastic week in Swale.

What a brilliant week we’ve had in Year 4 Swale! Everyone has been working so hard and having lots of fun with our learning. Here are some of the highlights:

English
We’ve been using the book "Penguins" to help us understand the structure of non-chronological reports. We practised retrieving facts from texts and even took turns interviewing each other to share what we had discovered. There were some excellent “penguin reporters” in the classroom!

Maths
In maths, we’ve been focusing on place value. We used physical resources to help us understand how numbers are built. It really helped to see the numbers in action and how we can represent numbers in different ways.

Guided Reading
Our new book is Squishy McFluff. We’ve been using our prediction skills to think about what the story might be about. There were lots of imaginative and exciting ideas shared.

Learning Means the World
We explored how computers are connected and how information is sent and received. It was amazing to think about how messages travel so quickly around the world.

PE
We started gymnastics this week. Everyone enjoyed trying out our new learning and building confidence in balance and control.

Well done, Year 4 Swale! You’ve shown fantastic enthusiasm and teamwork this week. We can’t wait to see what exciting learning comes next!
