The Ribble Report

What a wonderful week!

This has been the first full week in Year 5 and Ribble have done so well already.

In English, we have started looking at our new book and to introduce the topic we made some chocolate lollies. We thought carefully about the steps that we had to take to complete this and then we wrote some instructions too.

In maths, we have been learning about numbers up to 1,000,000. This has taken a lot of concentration and our confidence is building. On Thursday we were reading and writing numbers up to 1,000,000 which was really fun, but sometimes the order can get confusing.

In Learning Means the World, we have continued our space adventure. We have discussed the ways that the sun, moon and Earth interact with each other as well as look at their relative size. It was fascinating to go outside and represent this using chalk!

PE has seen us trying out some new gymnastic skills including cartwheels, bunny hops and symmetrical poses. We also did tag rugby in PE (with Mr Banks) and this was a great contrast!
