This week in Nidd...

What have we been learning this week?

Our Maths lessons continue to challenge us. Tessa told us "We were learning to partition 3 digit numbers. It started easy but got more difficult." We love a challenge in Nidd as we know that's how we learn!

In English we have been practising using exciting verbs and adverbs to improve our writing. On Thursday we were sequencing the story of Paddington decorating the attic. We will use this to help us to write our own Paddington stories. Keaton said "I found it quite tricky but I kept trying."

We have continued to investigate the world of print in Learning Means the World. After exploring different fonts, we then designed our own. Aleksandra said "We had a sheet of paper and we had to decide what kind of font you wanted to design. I added hearts to my design." On Tuesday, Nidd class was a hive of activity as we designed and made our own string print stamps for the letters in our name. The tricky part was making sure the design was reversed so that it printed the letter correctly. Anna said "The hardest part was making the letters backwards because we normally write them the right way and they looked really weird and I thought it would print backwards!"
