Aire Class Blog

Amazing Aire!

We were very lucky that Freddie Cleary visited us last Friday. Freddie is a local singer/songwriter and he came to discuss his music career in relation to our Learning Means the World topic, Lightening Speed. We have been looking at music and how the tempo affects mood and Freddie played a range of different songs with different tempos. The children asked some wonderful questions and it was amazing to watch them being immersed in his singing and guitar playing.

In English, we have started our new book 'The Lost Happy Endings.' We predicted what the story was going to be about and then we read the book to check our predictions. In our grammar lessons, we have been looking at using fronted adverbials in our writing and discussed the impact this has on our writing.

We have just concluded our topic of Place Value in Maths. We finished the topic by looking at four-digit numbers and how we could round them to  the nearest multiple of 10,100 and 1000.

In spelling, we have started to look at homophones! We have created our own clues to decipher which is the correct spelling for words such as bare/bear, peace/piece and fare/fair.

In PE, we have been playing tag rugby and becoming confident and comfortable in handling the rugby ball and passing to each other.

In Spanish, we are looking at more body parts and building up our confidence in naming and labelling body parts.

All the class have now successfully logged on to TTRockstars and Reading Plus. The logins are in their planners with instructions on how to log on which will support the homework which has gone home this week. Children are welcome to bring their homework in on a Thursday and it will be handed back on a Friday.
