Esk News

Welcome to this week's blog.
This week things were getting a bit messy! We have been learning about dyes and pigments as part of our Hot Off the Press, Learning Means the World topic. We were experimenting with different food objects such as oranges, beetroot and grapes. We also used blackcurrant squash, food colouring and ink. Hannah enjoyed doing the experiment because it was messy and fun! Lily enjoyed learning how even food can be a kind of stain or dye.
Art, this week has been on a similar subject, where we have been creating a printed pad. Bobbie explains that they took some Styrofoam and, using a pencil, created a pattern on the foam. Then applied paint onto the foam sheet and pressed it onto paper, just like a printing press.
Aaliyah has enjoyed tag rugby this week. Her favourite part of the lesson was when she scored a try! Hannah also enjoyed try scoring this week and being "super successful"!
Every week we have spelling lessons. During these lessons we use different strategies for practising our words. Elsie says she really enjoys drawing the squiggles and filling in the gaps with the words.
