This week in Nidd...

It has been a super busy week in Nidd.
In Maths we have started to learn more about addition and subtraction, working with numbers up to 1,000. We have been using our knowledge of number facts to ten and applying those to greater numbers.
We explored dyes and pigments in Science, experimenting with a range of natural and man-made dyes. We investigated them for strength of colour and transparency and were quite surprised by some our findings. The grapes particularly surprised us as we expected their juice to be deep purple. Our results showed that they didn't give a strong colour at all! We then recorded our findings, trying to use some of the scientific language we had learned.
We are reaching the end of our English unit, and we have been planning our own version of the Cinderella story. We are really excited to write our new versions using all the exciting verbs, adverbs and adjectives that we have been practising.
Our Spanish accents are really coming along well, as we have started to learn some basic Spanish greetings, how to ask someone 'How are you?' and to describe how we are feeling. We will be turning these into Spanish conversations.
