Aire Class Blog

Another week has flown by!

In English, we have been using prepositional phrases to enhance our writing. We have also been looking at similes to describe the mood and the class created some fantasic imagery including describing the witch as 'as old as time' and 'as ancient as an antique clock.'

In Maths, we have looked at using efficient substraction methods. This has been quite challenging to choose whether the counting on method, formal column subtraction, or using a number line to come up with the best method to solve the problems.

In Music, we have been creating musical compositions in the C minor chord using a glockenspiel. It has been wonderful to watch the children enjoy creating their own masterpieces and performing it to the class.

We have started our new book, Iron Man, in Guided Reading. We have been predicting where the Iron Man has come from, what he would look like and what will happen in the story.

In RE, we have finished looking at our big question of 'What is it like to follow God?' The children have reflected on the stories of Noah and Jonah and made connections with promises made by God and promises made in Christian weddings.

If you have any more small recyclable  items, we would need them next week for our DT project!
