This week we have started our new Learning Means the World topic, Athens Vs Sparta.

We are really excited to be learning about modern Greece and its history. To begin with, we sampled some traditional Greek food. Leo said it was “yummy” and he liked the pitta bread and the cheese the most.

We also started to learn the Sirtaki, a traditional Greek dance, using an online dance lesson from a Greek school!  We also watched the dance being performed as part of a Greek wedding ceremony. Fenn thought the dancing was really good because it was fun and good to do.

In English, we continue our journey through the world of myths and legends. This week, we have started to think about our own heroes and myth stories. We have been working in small groups to think about all the different attributes our hero could have. We then took these ideas and used them to write a character description. Bobbie thinks it is really nice that we get to write our own story and later on, read it out. Mason enjoyed it because he had fun as it was like making his own book.
