In English, we have written some wonderful similes to help create a setting description of an underwater world. Some examples are:
'A battered, ancient shipwreck as old as time.'
'The bubbles floated towards the surface like balloons floating towards the sky.'
'The fish darted amongst the iridescent seaweed like bullets.'
In Maths, we have been exploring links between multiples of 3,6 and 9. We have been looking at different patterns and ways to spot multiples. Did you know that all multiples of 9 have digits that add to 9?
108 = 1+0+8 = 9
54 = 5+4= 9
522 = 5+2+2=9
Did you know that all multiples of 9 are also multiples of 3?
In RE, we have looked at Guru Nanak and how his ideas founded the Sikh religion. Guru Nanak believed in kindness, fairness and equality and was the reason why sangars (community kitchens) were established.
In Science, we looked at insulators and conductors this week. We created a circuit and tested different materials to see whether they conducted electricity.
In Music, we were learning different notes, including a semibreve, minim and crotchet. We became composers and composed different pieces of music.
In Guided Reading, we continued the story of Iron Man and explored the language and choice of sentence structure and how it created an impact within the story.
For our Michael Rosen Day, we were immersed in a day of poetry! We looked at poems by Michael Rosen and other poets, and created our own individual and class poem called 'I'm So Hungry.'
