The Battles of Boudicca
Mobile Planetarium Visit
We have just this week confirmed the visit to see the Wonder Dome at Ripon Cathedral School on Monday 1st December. It's a mobile planetarium, and will act as a great rounding off of our space topic in Learning Means The World last half-term. We are going in school time, and there is no cost to parents. Please bring a coat and wrap up warm for the walk to the other school!
It's been an Assessment Week in class, and it's been great to see both the levels of concentration, and positive approach the children have had. It's meant fewer 'normal' lessons, but we have still continued to enjoy our diverse curriculum.
In history, we learned about the circumstances of Queen Boudicca's rebellion against the Romans. The children really enjoyed applying all they had previously learnt about the organisation and superb training and equipment that the Roman army had, and how this led to Boudicca's demise, despite her army of 200,000 massively outnumbering the Romans. The class wrote some great (and occasionally rather bloodthirsty) recounts of what happened.
In PE, the class have really enjoyed different team-building games with the ever inventive Mr Banks, as well as having a great attitude to learning some line dancing steps in their other PE lesson, which has been a learning curve for children and teacher alike!
Have a great weekend!
