The Ribble Report

The learning journey continues...
To celebrate recently completing our fantastic space topic, we have confirmed our visit to see a planetarium in Ripon Cathedral School on Monday. This is an extraordinary experience for the children and we are delighted to have this opportunity. There is no cost for the children, but it is important that they are well wrapped up for the walk there and back.
We have seen an abundance of positivity, determination and resilience this week while test have been taking place. The children have handled them with great maturity and tried their best - well done!
We have also been creating wonderful information sheets in English, which were final drafts of our big write this unit. The children have designed these themselves and included features that ensure the layout is engaging for a young audience. We are hoping to present our work to Year 3 at some point next week!
In History, we tackled the tale of Queen Boudicca and her involvement with the Romans. Noah thoroughly enjoyed this lesson and was very knowledgeable in the subject. We applied our learning about the Roman army’s superb organisation and training to understand how they managed to defeat Boudicca, even though her army of 200,000 outnumbered them hugely .
Finally, in PE, we've had a lot of fun with Mr. Banks, mastering various team-building games. We've also been learning some line dancing steps!
Keep up the amazing work, Year 5! See you next week for our trip to the stars.
