🎄 A Festive Update from Wharfe Class! 🎄

The tinsel is up, the carols are playing, and the excitement in Wharfe Class has reached a seasonal high! It has been an incredibly busy and heartwarming run-up to the holidays, filled with hard work, reflection, and plenty of Christmas cheer.

✍️ Reflections and Creative Writing

Even with the festive spirit in the air, Wharfe has stayed focused. The children have been showing great maturity by looking back through their recent assessments, identifying where they can grow, and carefully working out how to polish their answers.

This dedication to improvement flowed right into our English lessons, where we have been editing and improving the final drafts of our Merlin stories. From mythical magic to powerful descriptions, these stories are truly becoming masterpieces!

🕊️ Wars of the World: A Path to Peace

We have officially wrapped up our 'Learning Means the World' topic, Wars of the World. To finish, we explored the powerful concept of pacifism. We looked at the lives of influential figures like Mahatma Gandhi and John Lennon, discussing what it means to stand for peace.

Inspired by Paul McCartney’s Pipes of Peace, the children spent time illustrating the poignant lyrics, showing a deep understanding of the song's message of harmony.

🌟 Nativity and Party Time!

A huge highlight this week was watching the KS1 Nativity. We were so impressed by how confidently the younger children spoke—it was a truly proud moment for the whole school!

Today, the classroom transformed into a party zone! We’ve had a "marvellous" time playing all our favourite games:

  • Corners (always a classic!)
  • Musical Statues (some very impressive freezing!)
  • Bingo (the tension was real!)

🎅 Looking Ahead to Tomorrow

The festivities aren't over yet! Tomorrow promises to be a wonderful final day:

  • Christmas Jumpers: We can’t wait to see the classroom filled with sparkles, reindeer, and festive knits.
  • Church Service: We are looking forward to coming together as a community for our Christmas Service.
  • Christmas Lunch: A huge thank you to Mrs. Jones for being so organised and making sure our festive feast is ready to go!
Wharfe Class, you have worked so hard this term. It’s time to celebrate your achievements and enjoy the magic of the season.
