The Ribble Report

Ribble have had such a wonderful week back!

In English, we have begun to look at Beowulf by Charles Keeping. We started the learning by writing stories about a monster and a hero. The children created their own characters and followed a plot that was provided to them – the creative ideas were superb!

In Guided Reading, we have introduced a new book called Hidden Figures. The children predicted the theme of the story by reading the blurb, and we have also learnt some new vocabulary.

In maths, we have returned to multiplication and division. We started with 4 digit numbers by 1 digit numbers and are progressing to multiplying numbers by 2 digit numbers too.

We have also been enjoying spending time reading our class novel! The title is 'My Dog' and we are all on the edge of our seats because Rhys is keeping a secret dog in his room!

Archie said that his favourite part of this week has been PE with Mr Whitford. The children always enjoy the 'Sporting Influence' sessions and this week has been no exception. Archie loved playing the matches in handball and can't wait for next week.

Have a lovely weekend!
