Aire Class Blog

We have been busy in Aire this week!
In English, we are completing our persuasive writing unit by choosing two different objects with opposing emotions and writing a letter to our owner! We are using rhetorical questions, fronted adverbials, personification and persuasive techniques. We have disgruntled coat pegs because they have to carry heavy bags and coats all day. We also have school shoes which are bored as they have been walking up and down the school corridors and don't have as much fun as other shoes. We have neglected dresses that are upset as they only get worn on special occasions and would like to have fun in the park and climbing trees. We have disgusted lunch boxes that are begging for the old banana peel to be taken out of them!
In Maths, we are looking at the formal method of multiplication and multiplying 3 and 2-digit numbers. We have been working hard on our times tables. Information will be sent to parents shortly as there will be an opportunity for parents to join us in class to understand how we use TTRockstars and how we are working towards our multiplication check at the end of the year.
In RE, we have been looking at The Golden Rules and exploring the 3 important rules in Sikhism:
Naam Japna → Remember God
Kirat Karna → Work honestly
Vand Chhakna → Share with others
In Learning Means the World we have looked at child labour and slavery in Africa. We have learnt that the pinwheel is the symbol of the fight against child labour. We have been comparing slavery in Ancient Greece and the impact slavery has had around the world.
In Spanish, we have been looking at a range of different animals and using 'yo tengo' to create sentences combining Spanish numbers, the verb 'to have' and our new vocabulary.
