What a busy first week back!
We have started our new English topic based on the book called A River by Marc Martin. We have looked at prepositions of place and how they create movement within a piece of writing. We have also imagined a world outside our classroom window and have written a short piece using prepositional phrases. Savannah said she really likes the book A River because 'it is really imaginative!'
In Maths we are comparing and ordering mixed numbers. We are placing the fractions on the number line and using < > and = to compare them.
In Learning Means the World we are starting a new topic called Picture our Planet. We have started learning about Brazil and the features of human and physical geography. We imagined that aliens landed on Planet Earth and we were their tour guides. We had to choose 3 places we would want them to visit and describe the human and physical features of the place.
We went to a Dance Festival this week and had great fun performing our dance. Connie, Alekseij and Kindness were recognised for their determination and body language during the dance. However, I was so impressed with everyone who took part. Dylan said that he enjoyed the dance festival because 'he enjoyed rocking out!'
In RE, we are exploring Salvation and how this links to the Easter story. We created our own concept card for our understanding of what Salvation is.
Dates to remember:
Thursday 5th of March - World Book Day. Children are invited to come in dressed as a character from a book.
