Esk Class News
Welcome back and we hope you have had a great half term break.
Esk has had a busy start to the Spring 2 term. We have been writing our own letters to the Agony Aunt Dr K Fisher from the point of view of a worried animal. We have a parrot who is worried about being too bright, a ladybird who is fed up with being too small and Rabbit who doesn’t understand why everyone wants to eat her! Lilly has enjoyed it because she is learning more and more about animals. Aaliyah is enjoying writing her reply back, pretending she is Dr K Fisher, giving her best advice.
We have been learning about perimeter in Maths and have been counting and measuring shapes to calculate the perimeter. Bobbie-Mae has really enjoyed this topic and has shown great rule and measuring skills.
In Learning Means the World we have started a new topic. In Under the Canopy we will be learning all about the rainforests of the world. We have started by learning where the Tropics are. We have located the equator, the tropics of Capricorn and Cancer and the Greenwich meridian line too. Emily liked plotting the lines, in colour, onto a map. Hannah and her group had good fun sticking wool onto a globe to show where the lines went round the world.
To make this week even better, we managed to walk to swimming and back without getting rained on!
