Ouse News!

Welcome back to our blog!

English

In English we started our new book, 'A Dog's Day' by Rebecca Rissman. This story is unique as it is written from two different viewpoints, Rusty and Rosie. We spent time reading closely and practising our retelling skills.

Maths

In Maths we have been practising our 5 and 10 times-table. We spotted links between the numbers and multiplied and divided a range of numbers.

Mastery Number

In our Mastery Number sessions we've been working on derived facts. We discovered that if we know our number bonds to 10, we automatically know our number bonds to 20.

Learning Means the World

In Science, we sorted items into two categories: living and never been alive. We learnt that for something to be classified as 'living', it must meet specific criteria. We focused on 4 key traits – breathe, adapt, reproduce and grow.

RE

We have been sequencing the events of Holy Week. We mapped out the journey from the cheers of Palm Sunday and the events of Holy Monday to the last supper on Maundy Thursday. We then moved to Good Friday to the celebration of Easter Sunday.

Art

In Art with Mrs Needham we used watercolours to create our own spring flowers.
