Global Warning!
It has been great to have everybody back and to enjoy some somewhat warmer weather! This week we started our new Learning Means the World topic, Global Warning. It has a science and geography theme, and we will be exploring issues of pollution and waste. We also investigated the recycling process for paper, taking notes and turning our research into super story maps to show the journey of each piece of paper.
In Maths, we have been finding both fractions and decimals to the thousandth. We have used base 10 blocks and place value grids with counters to explore this area.
In English, we have been reading Shackleton's Journey by William Grill and exploring the grammatical features it contains. We enjoyed using conjunctions to try to justify why he took a banjo, a record player, and a snooker table on his Antarctic expedition!
In PE, we had our last football session with Seb from Harrogate Town. These have been brilliant sessions, and we really appreciated having his expertise over the last few weeks.
We hope you all have a great weekend!
