Swale News

Its been another full week in Swale!

This week in English, we used our trip to the woodlands as inspiration for our writing. We wrote our own journey stories about a walk through the woods, inspired by the book A River. In our writing we tried to include prepositions, powerful verbs, personification and expanded noun phrases to help create a descriptive journey for the reader. We imagined what we could see, hear and feel as we travelled through the woodland. Jennifer said she enjoyed sharing each others ideas and descriptions.

In RE, we have been learning about Salvation. We focused on the story of Jesus washing his disciples’ feet and discussed what this teaches Christians about humility and acts of service. We thought about how we can show humility in our own lives, both at school and at home, by helping others and being kind.

In Guided Reading, we started a new text called The Julian Stories. We discussed other books it reminded us of that include siblings or cousins. We also made predictions about the type of story we think it will be and what might happen next.

In PE, we have continued to develop our cricket skills. We had a fantastic session focusing on our fielding skills and worked hard to improve our accuracy and teamwork.

Thank you for all the support encouraging TTRockstars at home!
