The Ribble Report

Another great week in Ribble!

Ribble class had a fascinating start to the week with Amelia from Quickline, who taught us about digital skills. We explored AI imagery and scam websites, which tied in perfectly with our PSHE lessons on technology and wellbeing.

Netball has been great in PE as well. We have been developing our skills for dodging, finding space and passing.

In English, we wrote diary entries from the perspective of Ernest Shackleton. We focused on using parenthesis to describe the "Endurance" being trapped in the ice. Our environmental work continued in 'Learning Means the World,' where we created comic strips about the dangers of 'nurdles'—tiny plastic pellets that harm sea life in our oceans. The songs/chants that the children came up with were brilliant.

Wednesday was all about adventure and teamwork. Anni said, "I love orienteering in PE because I like to read the map and work in groups. We even went to the woodlands!"

Bella is enjoying maths. She said that she finds it "fun and interesting and some bits are easy but some are very hard and I like the challenge."

We finished the week as scientists, using rulers to measure the "jump" objects make toward magnets. We discovered that not all metals are magnetic, which was intrested when we compared the results to our predictions.
