Super Swale News!

This week in Swale, we have been very active and busy with our learning.

English
We have completed our final piece of writing in English. We have worked hard to include personification in our writing, where objects are described as if they are alive. We are very proud of our final pieces.  Hannah thought it was really as she was able to use her imagination and include all of the English she has been learning. Tiana said she enjoyed being able to write her own story.

Maths
In Maths, we have been finding equivalent fractions on a number line and adding fractions together. This has helped us to understand how fractions can be represented in different ways. Sineth said he found it hard to begin with but with lots of practice her is getting better at it now.

RE
In RE, we have explored more symbolism during Easter. We have learned how different symbols remind Christians of the Easter story and have discussed what symbols mean and why they are important. Fraser said he enjoyed the lesson as he was able to create a picture to represent one of the symbols and then write about it in a mini booklet.

Learning Means the World
We created fact files about Christ the Redeemer in Brazil and considered pollution issues affecting Brazil. This helped us to think about the importance of caring for the environment. Troy said he has enjoyed learning about Brazil and watching a 360 video made him feel like he was there. Emily found it interesting to compare England to Brazil.

PE
What a week of PE! We had two cricket sessions this week, which were fantastic for developing our skills in both fielding and batting. Poppy said she enjoyed hitting the ball! Charlotte said she enjoyed the games we played in cricket.

Spelling
Our spelling focus this week is the prefixes anti- and inter-. We have been learning how these prefixes change the meaning of words. Tiana enjoys putting our spelling words into sentences.

Don’t forgot to bring in an Easter Egg for the raffle from Monday!
