Curriculum Information

Please see below for an overview of what the children will learn this half term.

English: How do you feel? Children will explore different emotions through the engaging story written by Patrick George. We will learn a range of vocabulary and learn how to express their feelings verbally and in simple written sentences.

Maths: Place Value within 10 Pupils will build a strong foundation in the early number sense by counting, sorting, ordering, and comparing numbers up to 10.

Science: The Human Body & Seasonal Changes Little scientists will identify and name parts of the human body and their senses, while also observing seasonal shifts as we move into autumn.

RE: What do Christians believe God is like? Children will explore core Christian beliefs through biblical stories, discussing concepts like love, forgiveness, and God as a loving creator.

History: How am I making History? Pupils will look at their own life timelines from birth to the present day, exploring how they grow and change over time.

Computing: Technology Around Us Children will discover what technology is, identify different devices in their everyday environments, and learn basic computer safety and handling.

Music: Keeping the Pulse: My Favourite Things Pupils will develop their sense of rhythm by clapping, moving, and singing along to steady beats using songs about their favourite things.

PSHE: Being Me in My World Children will learn about their place in the classroom community, exploring how to share, respect rules, and feel valued as part of a team.

PE: Gymnastics & Multi-skills (Throwing & Catching) Pupils will practice core balance, agility, and spatial awareness on gymnastics apparatus while developing hand-eye coordination through fun ball games.

Home school communication, both to celebrate the good things and tackle any problems or concerns, is essential in ensuring the very best education for your child. Parents, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher via admin@htceschools.co.uk

As part of our whole school commitment to wellbeing, there is no expectation on our staff to read or answer emails sent between 6pm and 8am in the week, or any at weekends or holidays.  Should your email not receive a reply, this is not a case of being impolite but one of choosing wellbeing ahead of workload.
